Mini Vinnies is a program in Scotland associated with the St Vincent de Paul Society, aimed at primary school children from p4-p7. Two children from each class are put forward by their teacher to be in the group for the school year. The children focus on helping those in need within their school and local communities, promoting values of kindness and service. They operate under the guidance of a member of school staff and follow a ”See, Think, Do” plan to engage in charitable activities.
Our Mini Vinnie’s worked very hard before the Christmas Holidays to make and sell Reindeer Food. They split the funds raised between Macmillan Cancer Support and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
They also organised a wonderful afternoon’s performance at local care home, Eadar Glinn as part of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul’s (SSVP) Christmas and Advent activities. Full information can be found here on page 13! Well done, we are very proud of you all.
